Tactical Data Link

A Tactical Data Link - TDL ( Tactical Data Link) is a military data link transmitted via the defined according to NATO tactical data link communications standards digitized data and information via cable or radio or replaced. TDLs find NATO internally and for data exchange with countries participating in the NATO program Partnership for Peace (PfP ) application.

The development of such " NATO Standard Operating Procedures ( NSOP ) " performed by the " Information Systems Sub - Committe ( ISSC ) - Data Link Working Group ( DLWG ) ".

NATO CRC, AWACS and CAOC are the main data sources and data sinks with TDL under the jurisdiction of SHAPE.

Terminology

The term TDL has replaced the former name Tactical Digital Information Link ( TADIL ) and is today hardly use.
