Tactical Operations Center

A Tactical Operations Center (TOC ) is a command post for most military operations. A TOC usually includes a small group of specially trained officials or military officers that lead the members of an active tactical element during a mission.

Equipment

Most stationary Tactical Operations Center are very technical furnished and contain a number of computer systems that are used to monitor operational progress and the communication with the units in an area. One of the most TOCS is NORAD ( North American Air and Space Defense Command ).

TOC officers are usually connected by a line-of -sight communication with the units. TOCs usually have several wall-mounted screens, for example, are related to the observation in operational units, as well as intercom systems, which are used for the coordination of tactical elements.

Smaller TOCs can be created in tents and buildings through the creation of computers and networking of telecommunications equipment in the cargo area of a van or truck (see SWAT), as well.
