Tactics (Manga)

Tactics is a completed manga series by Sakura Kinoshita and Kazuko Higashiyama, published in Japan since 2000. It is classified in the genres of comedy and action and has also been implemented as an anime series.

Content

Kantaro Ichinomiya (一ノ宮 勘太郎) is a young ethnologist and ghost hunters in the Taishō period, the early 20th century in Japan. He can see ghosts and gods of nature and has magical abilities. But he is friends with many ghosts and evil spirits tried to appease by helping them. He lives by his ethnological books and payments for wraith. Yōko, a Kitsune, his servant, as he gave her a name and she has so bound to it.

For a long time Kantaro is on the search for the Oni - eating Tengu, of whose strength he intends to benefit. Finally, he can find him at a order, gives him the name Haruka (春华) and binds him in itself. From now on, Haruka Kantaro helps his orders, but often it is clamped in his plans without knowing it. A powerful opponent of the two is Raikō Minamoto (源 頼 光), Ghost Hunter of the government, would have liked to defeat the Oni - eating Tengu.

Publication

A pilot appeared in issue 1/2001 (December 2000 ) of the magazine G Fantasy of the publisher Square Enix before in issue 5/ 2001, the series began publication, written by Sakura Kinoshita and Suzume Momono. In 2002, the series the publisher Mag Garden and Suzume Momono was replaced by Kazuko Higashiyama. Here, the manga was first published in the magazine Comic Blade, then the newly formed Comic Blade Masamune and after they are set in the 2007 Comic Avarus 2003. The chapters have also been in so far (as of February 2013) published 14 anthologies.

In Carlsen Comics published from October 2002 to January 2007, the first seven volumes in German translation. Tokyopop brought the series out in English, Ediciones Manga Line in Spanish and Tong Li in Chinese.

Anime adaptation

Studio Deen produced a 2004 anime adaptation of the manga for television. The screenplay by Ken'ichi Kanemaki was implemented under the direction of Hiroshi Watanabe. The character design designed Mariko Oka and the art direction was Michiyo Akutsu.

The series was (and thus on the previous TV day ) aired in Japan on 6 October 2004 to 30 March 2005, after midnight of TV Tokyo. 2007 and 2008 an English dubbing in Canada, the U.S. and the UK on TV was shown. In addition, there are a Filipino and a Korean version.

Voice Actors

Music

The music of the series was composed by Kei Haneoka. Was used for the opening credits the song Secret World, the credits title is Mienai Chikara, both sung by Miki Akiyama. Were composed the songs by Kazuya Nishioka, the lyrics were written by Yuriko Mori.

Reception

The German magazine AnimaniA speaks the manga " wit and charm " to which could also be transferred to the Anime implementation. This is largely thanks to the Director and the closely designed to the original character design. In Japan, the television series among fans of the manga is good angekommen.In Anime Encyclopedia of the series is assigned to the harem. But the harem fancy at Tactics from traditional ghost figures, what the anime bring a special charm.
