History

Was founded in 1958 by the Portuguese State Transportes Aereos de Cabo Verde ( TACV short ). The Company commenced operations in 1959 from Praia to Sal and São Vicente on. 1963 added a connection to Lisbon in cooperation with TAP Portugal.

After the independence of Cape Verde, the state transformed the airline into a joint stock company, which was 100 percent state-owned. 2001 it was decided to privatize the airline. This step, however, was not completed until 2006.

Destinations

TACV connects seven of the nine inhabited islands of Cape Verde with one another.
