The Japanese Tadano Ltd.. is one of the world's largest manufacturers of hydraulic cranes. The 100-percent German subsidiary is the Faun GmbH.

The parent company was founded in 1948 Tadano Ltd.. headquartered in Takamatsu, Japan, is an internationally operating group of companies specializing in the development and production of mobile hydraulic cranes and hoists. The turnover of the global Tadano group was around 1 billion euros in fiscal 2012 /2013. Worldwide, the Tadano group has more than 3200 employees, including more than 700 at the German plant in Lauf an der Pegnitz. With over 86 international sales and service stations and 20 branch offices, the Tadano Group is one of the major manufacturers in the mobile crane and lifting equipment. Overall, the Tadano group has produced and delivered in the last decades of its history lifting equipment for more than half a million HebeFahrzeuge.
