Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz (bishop)
Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz (White Russian Тадэвуш Кандрусевіч, Tadevush Kandrusievich ) ( born January 3, 1946 in Adelsk in Hrodna, Belarus ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop of Minsk - Mogilev.
Life
Kondrusievicz visited the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Pedagogical Institute in Hrodna, but she left because his regular church visits were made to him to reproach. In 1970 he received his degree ( with honors ) in mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic Institute in Leningrad. From 1970 to 1976 Kondrusievicz worked as an engineer in a grinding mill in Vilnius. Together with colleagues, he invented a high-speed grinder special for the Volga Automobile Plant.
After studying Catholic theology and philosophy in Kaunas Kondrusievicz received there on 31 May 1981, the ordination. From 1981 to 1986 he was a curate in the Church of St. Theresa, and in the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy in Vilnius. In 1985, he received a licentiate in theology. From 1986 to 1987 he was vicar of the Mother of God church in Druskininkai. In 1987 he returned to Vilnius and was there until February 1988 vicar of the church of the Holy Spirit. On February 13, 1988, he was head of the church Mother of God and the Francisco de Xavier church in Hrodna. In the same year he received his doctorate in theology.
On May 10, 1989, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Hippo Diarrhytus and Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Minsk. He received his episcopal consecration John Paul II on October 20 that same year in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators were Curia Archbishop Edward Idris Cassidy and the apostolic nuncio in Poland, Francesco Colasuonno. With the establishment of the Apostolic Administration of the European Russia on April 13, 1991 Kondrusievicz was appointed to the Apostolic Administrator, based in Moscow. At this time he was to be treated in a Moscow hospital, therefore, saw the official inauguration of the Church of Saint Louis until May 28, 1991 instead.
On 11 February 2002, the Apostolic Administration was elevated to archbishopric Lady of Moscow and appointed Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz to its first Metropolitan Archbishop. On 21 September 2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Archbishop of Minsk - Mogilev. The solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) was held in Minsk on November 21 of the same year.
