Tafenoquin (WR - 238605 ) is an antimalarial agent which is a further development of the 8- aminoquinoline primaquine. It has a longer plasma half-life, and likely less toxicity. Tafenoquin is effective against tissue and Blutschizonten. For these reasons, it is potentially suitable for malaria prophylaxis. Tafenoquin is currently in clinical trials. The drug has been in any country of the world market approval.
