Known historical watch models

Autavia

Autavia is composed of AUT of Automobile and AVIA Aviation. The Autavia series of Heuer Heuer series with the largest variety of models represents the most famous clock is the so-called Jo Siffert Autavia ( after the Swiss racing driver Jo Siffert, who was one of the first this clock - probably Heuer marketing purposes - was ) with a white sheet and blue markers. This clock with an automatic movement was introduced in 1969. However changed, however, after about a year the dial of this model, as Heuer Chronomatic used the word on the sheet. The term Chrono-Matic but was already used by Breitling on his watch. The result was that Jo Siffert watches bearing the imprint Chronomatic are very rare. Today, by this model, only about 5-6 specimens known. One of them is located in the Tag Heuer Museum ( not public).

In addition to the Jo Siffert especially the models from 1984 are very popular. This year, the transition from Heuer to day and the later brand Tag Heuer has been initiated. The models were not very popular at this time, partly because also the era of LCD and electronic movements broke. One of the rarest watches from this period is the Autavia Diver 100: Here, Heuer design attributes of Rolex Received ( Mercedes- pointer; sheet with round markers, bezelinsert à la Rolex ) and this combined with the Heuer - optics in a clock. The Diver 100 is one of the rarest Heuer Autavia watches ever known worldwide with approximately 8 to 12 copies.

On the right is nice a collection of so-called Viceroy Autavias. These were brought to market in a collaboration between Heuer and the cigarette brand Viceroy. The consumers of Viceroy cigarettes were here by a fundraising campaign to purchase the appropriate clock for little money. The run on this clock was very large, so that Heuer at the end of the promotion all together tinkered what was still present: therefore the clocks differ mainly by the use of different Lünetteneinlagen: Tachy or MH ( hour / minute) were used. Instead of the expensive original GF bracelet with end pieces HLF a so-called Economy bracelet was used: this had indeed HLF end pieces but no GF buckle. The bracelet was produced in Japan and in addition to the closure also cheaper bracelet links.
