Region:

The Tagish Road ( known as Yukon Highway 8 also ) is a 53 km long, paved road in Canada's Yukon Territory, which joins Jake 's Corner on the Alaska Highway with Carcross Klondike Highway.

About 1.5 miles from Jake 's Corner away is the end of the Atlin Road. The small town of Tagish is located about 19 km away from Jake 's Corner.

Until the completion of the Alaska Highway in 1943 along the Marsh Lake Tagish Road was a portion of the original Alaska Highway, and was opened in the fall of 1942. During many years, a long wooden bridge was the only way to pass the Tagish River. Meanwhile, it was replaced by a more stable bridge, and the first 19 km of the road has been straightened.
