Taglio di Po

Taglio di Po is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 8527 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Rovigo in Veneto. The municipality is situated approximately 34 km west-southwest of Rovigo in the Polesina, the mouth of the Po. For the Italian Adriatic coast, and 5 km. Taglio di Po is not limited because of the narrow strip of the neighboring village of Ariano nel Polesine in the province of Ferrara. Part of the municipality is part of the Regional Park of the Po Delta.

History

From the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance the area and also the present village belonged to the Republic of Venice.

Traffic

The community is on the Strada Statale Romea 309 (E 55) of the section from Ravenna to Venice, crosses. This road is also the last major bridge over the Po from its mouth.

Community partnership

Taglio di Po maintains a partnership with the Croatian community Omišalj (Italian Castelmuschio, dt Muschau ) in the Primorje - Gorski Kotar on the island of Krk.
