Geography

Tagmersheim lies in the planning region of Augsburg, about 19 ​​km northeast of Donauwörth.

There are the districts Tagmersheim and Blossenau.

History

The Wasserburg Tagmersheim owned by the family of Otting in 1523 destroyed by the Swabian League and never rebuilt. The owner of the castle had been created as a supporter of the robber baron Hans Thomas Absberg enemies, the gender of the Otting died in 1578 from the male line. Tagmersheim was the official residence before 1800 and belonged to the Counts of Pestalozzi since 1672. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark whose seat was Tagmersheim. The counts of Pestalozzi also had the high court.
