Tahani al-Gebali
Tahani al - Gebali (Arabic تهاني الجبالي, DMG Tahani al - Ǧibālī; born November 9, 1950 in Tanta ) is Vice President of the Egyptian Constitutional Court.
She was appointed by President Hosni Mubarak in office, as one of seventeen constitutional judges in 2003 and until 2007 was the sole judge of Egypt. In 1968 she began studying law in Cairo. Al- Gebali worked for 30 years as a lawyer and also represented workers after the bread riot in 1977 or lengthy divorce cases. Prior to her appointment, she was also active as a women's rights activist. She has a degree in Islamic law.
