Taicang

The city of Taicang (Ch太仓 市) is located a city of the prefecture-level city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province in the east of the People 's Republic of China, approximately 48 kilometers northwest from the center of Shanghai. It has an area of 642 km ² and 466 300 inhabitants counted in 2008 already with a rapidly growing trend.

The Stone Arch Bridge of Taicang (Taicang Shigong qiao太仓 石 拱桥) from the time of the Mongol Dynasty, and the residence of Zhang Pu ( Zhang Pu zhaidi张 溥 宅第) from the time of the Ming Dynasty are since 2006 on the list of monuments of the people's Republic of China.

The city ( county-level city ) received numerous national awards in their category, including for cleanliness, industrial settlement, as a green city and tourist center.
