The Tajima Province (Japanese但 马 国, Tajima no kuni ) was an old province of Japan in Kansai and today forms the northern, to the Sea of Japan adjoining district of Hyōgo Prefecture. Tajima bordered by the provinces of Harima, Inaba Tamba and tango.

The old provincial capital ( Kokufu ) was in the modern Toyooka, either in the district Izushi -chō or in Hidaka- chō. For most of the Sengoku period, the province of the family Yamana was ruled that Oda Nobunaga submitted to.

Although the provinces as a political entity ceased to exist, many residents of the area strongly identify with the name and the history of the province.

Tajima is best known as the home of the Kobe cattle, for its many onsen, beaches and small resorts. The main industries are forestry, fisheries, agriculture and tourism.
