Takashimaya

Takashimaya Co., Ltd.. (Japanese株式会社 高 岛 屋, Kabushiki kaisha Takashimaya ), listed on the Nikkei 225, ISIN JP3456000003 is a large Japanese department store chain ( depāto ). It was named after the town of Takashima in Shiga Prefecture.

The wholesale company was founded in 1829 in Kyoto by Iida Shinshichi. Meanwhile, Takashimaya has branches throughout Japan and one office in New York City on Fifth Avenue, Taipei, in Orchard Road in Singapore and in Paris on Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement.
