Taketa, ÅŒita
Taketa (Japanese竹田 市, - shi) is a city located in Oita Prefecture in Japan on the island of Kyūshū. It belongs to Naoiri district.
Geography
Taketa is located about 40 km southwest of Iloilo and just under 70 km west of Saiki and Usuki in the northern Japanese island of Kyushu. Kumamoto is located about 80 km southwest.
History
The city was founded on 31 March 1954, when the villages Taketa, Tamarai, Matsumoto, Nyuta, Ubatake, Miyato, SUGO, Miyagi and Kibaru were summarized to the city Taketa. 1955 Ōazakatase was incorporated. On 1 April 2005 the places Kuju and Naoiri in the north and Ogi were incorporated in the southwest of the city according to Taketa. In these latter districts exist today own branch administrative agencies.
