Takfarinas
Takfarinas stage name of Hate Zermani (* 1958 in Tixeraïne, Algeria), a French- Algerian Berber ( Kabyle ) Yal and musicians. The stage name selected Zermani after the Numidian resistance fighters Tacfarinas († 24 AD).
Life
Takfarinas comes from the fourth generation of a family of musicians. At the age of six years he built out of an old oil cans and brake cables a ' guitar '. In his youth he was enthusiastic about the Chaâbi music of El Hajj Muhammad El Anka, Cheikh El Hasnaoui Slimane Azem and.
In 1976 Takfarinas his first album in Algiers on. In 1979, he moved to France. In 1981 he founded there with Boujema Semaouni the group Agraw. His two 1986 albums Wa i telha Unternarrach and sold over a million copies. In 1989, he released the double CD Irgazen et ini -d ih, with which he achieved international recognition. In 1994 he released the album Yebba remman that made it into the European charts. He achieved his greatest success with the album Zaâma Zaâma.
His songs are mainly devoted to the culture of the Kabyle.
