Taksim SK

Taksim SK is a Turkish football club from Istanbul. The club currently plays in the regional amateur league, but was represented at earlier times in the second highest Turkish league. The club was mostly founded in 1940 by members of the Armenian community in Istanbul by the merger of Ates - Güneş, Nor Şişli and Kalespor. The club, however, played numerous players of Armenian, Jewish and Greek descent, mostly Turks.

History

The emergence of Taksim SK began when some players separated by disputes with the chairman of Galatasaray from the club and their own clubs Güneş SK and standards Şişli founded. However, these two teams did not stay long exist and so the remaining players joined these clubs together and founded in 1940 Taksim SK.

The team consisted mainly of Armenian players, with few exceptions, belonged to the Turkish ethnicity.

Taksim SK was from the mid-50s until the late 60s quite successful. So the club 1964/65 and 1966/67, Master of İstanbul Profesyonel mahalli ligament was in season 1956/57, Master of the Amateur League and for the seasons 1963/64, after the won Championship 1966/67, the club was relegated to the second Turkish league on. In the second division the club could keep only one season and increased with 5 wins, 10 draws and 23 defeats in 38 games back in the amateur league from where he is still represented.
