Takumi Nemoto

Takumi Nemoto (Japanese根本 匠, Nemoto Takumi; born March 7, 1951 in Kōriyama, Fukushima Prefecture) is a Japanese politician (LDP, Kishida faction ), member of the Chamber of Deputies, the lower house of Parliament for the constituency of Fukushima 2 and since 2012 Minister of Reconstruction in the second cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Nemoto, after completing his studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tokyo in 1974 an official in the Ministry of Construction. In 1991, he left the ministry and ran for the House of Representatives election 1993 in what was then viermandatigen constituency Fukushima 1 with the second highest share of the vote behind Tokunosuke Kaneko ( Renewal Party) and ahead of incumbent Teruhiko Mashiko (LDP ) and the second time antretenden Tatsuo Satō (LDP ) won Nemoto a mandate. After the electoral reform, he was confirmed in five new Einmandatswahlkreis Fukushima 2 since 1996. Nemoto was, among others, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs (Cabinet Obuchi and first transformation, 1998-1999), Advisor to the Prime Minister and a Vice Minister in the Cabinet Office ( Cabinet Koizumi I (1st transformation ), 2002-2003). From 2003 to 2004 he chaired the Committee on Economic and industry in the House of Representatives. After his return to the House of Representatives at the 2012 election Shinzō Abe appointed him as Minister of Reconstruction in his cabinet.
