Tala is a city in Uruguay.
Geography
Tala is located in the Cuchilla Pérez in the northeast of the department of Canelones in whose sector 10 around 15 kilometers north-west is San Ramon. Tala is thereby surrounded by the running on the southern outskirts of Arroyo del Tala and the north -flowing Macana, both of which meet at the west end of town.
History
Tala was founded by Ildefonso de León.

Culture
In Tala is inaugurated with the 1863 Parroquia del Salvador Santísimo a built in Roman style church. It was built on a provided by the city's founder Ildefonso de León area opposite the main square of the town by the two Italian architect José Martín and Ceriani.
In Tala lived and worked from 1877 to the active under the pseudonym El Viejo Pancho poet, writer and the Partido Nacional deputy José María Alonso y Trelles ( 1857-1924 ). His estate, Casa de José Alonso y predio y Trelles " El Viejo Pancho" Villa, located about 300 meters from the main square Talas away.
