Geography

Geographical location

Talheim located on the eastern edge of the Baar plateau at the foot of the 977 meter high Lupfen, the westernmost foothills of the Swabian Alb. On the other side ( south ) is the 940 meter high mountain sky, but already to the bathroom Dürrheimer district Öfingen heard.

History

Talheim was first mentioned in documents as Talhan in 973. The place belonged to the Counts of Lupfen. In disputes with the Emperor, the Counts lost their rights and the village came on the free city of Rottweil to the Lords of Friedingen who sold it in 1444 to Württemberg. Since then Talheim continuously to Württemberg.

Talheim was incorporated by a state law on January 1, 1975 in the town of Trossingen. The community complained against this law before the Baden-Württemberg State Court, which declared it by judgment of 1 April 1976 to be invalid. Talheim was so independent again and was subsequently voluntarily Agreed administrative community with the city Trossingen one.

Mayor

On October 24, 2004 Martin Hall was around 45 percent of the votes in the second ballot, with a voter turnout of 75.3 percent, was elected mayor of Talheim. Hall went to the office of Manfred Härle successor, who was elected on 28 March 2004 at the Mayor of Salem. He had held the office since 2001, as the successor of Helmut Cheerful, who was no longer taken up by four terms of office for election.
