The Taliaferro County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Crawfordville.

Geography

The County is located in the central Northeast Georgia and has an area of 506 square kilometers without significant water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Wilkes County, Warren County, Hancock County, Greene County and Oglethorpe County.

History

Taliaferro County was formed on December 24, 1825 65 County in Georgia. It was named for Benjamin Taliaferro, a hero of the Revolutionary War and Congress Member.
