Tell Calah (Arabic تلكلخ, Talkalaḫ DMG ) is a Syrian city. It lies on the border with Lebanon and is the capital of the district Tell Calah in the province of Homs. Much of the population lives on smuggling.

History

15 May 2011 occupied during the protests in Syria, the Syrian army Tell Calah. This was due to demonstrations against the government of Bashar al -Assad the day before. When appointing seven people were killed. About 2,000 inhabitants fled to Lebanon. On 18 May, at least 27 civilians were killed in clashes with the security forces.

Beginning of 2013, the city was under de facto control of the rebels, however, was largely enclosed by government forces.

After citizen representatives and FSA fighters had decided to noncombat surrender of the city, she was cast on June 25, 2013 by government forces.
