Tallahatchie County, Mississippi

The Tallahatchie County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The Management seats ( County Seat) are Charleston and Sumner, Tallahatchie County which the one of the ten counties in Mississippi that have two county administrations.

The County is located in northwestern Mississippi and has an area of 1689 square kilometers, of which 21 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered by the following counties:

History

Tallahatchie County was formed on December 31, 1833 from parts of the Choctaw country. It was named after the running here Tallahatchie River.
