The Río Tallija is one of the headwaters of the Río Beni and is located on the eastern slopes of the Andean Cordillera in the South American country of Bolivia.

The Río Tallija rises at the southeast edge of the Serrania de Sicasica near the village of Japo Kasa at Cerro Kope Khana ( 4423 m) at a height of 4324 m. The river flows from its source in north-north- westerly direction and unites after 27 kilometers with the Río Khala Parani the Río Leque (35 km).

The Río Leque after 35 kilometers to Río Ayopaya ( 40 km), this the Río Sacambaya (37 km ), which then connect to the Río Negro ( La Paz ) combined and then forms the Río Cotacajes. After 125 kilometers, turn unites this with the Río Santa Elena, and then bears the name Río Alto Beni.
