TALOS (uniform)
The Tactical Assault Suit Light Operator or TALOS is a development project of the United States Special Operations Command ( SOCOM ) of the U.S. armed forces. Goal is the development of a conditioned battle suit, the future soldiers much better to protect against enemy weapons effect than has been possible up, and made possible by means of an exoskeleton the soldiers carrying heavy loads. The suit should also be equipped with the most modern communication devices and sensors.
The project was presented by SOCOM Commander Admiral William H. McRaven. The project is coordinated by the U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command ( REDCOM ) from the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland from.
The abbreviation TALOS Talos is reminiscent of the Greek mythology, a reservoir created by a blacksmith god Hephaestus bronze warrior.
