Talose is a monosaccharide with six carbon atoms. This sugar is in a group of aldohexoses with the molecular formula C6H12O6. D- Talose occurs in nature - albeit in small amounts - as part of the antibiotic effect Hygromycine (formed by streptomycetes ) ago.

As with any sugar (except dihydroxyacetone), there are two enantiomeric forms, such as image and mirror image behave.
