Tamer Hosny

Tamer Hosny Sherif Abbas Farghaly (Arabic: تامر حسني, DMG Tamir Hosni, born August 16, 1977 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian singer, actor and composer.

He is with Free Music, an Egyptian production company, under contract. His single Habibi Wenta B'eed brought him a great success in the Arab world. His mother is from Syria, his father is Egyptian. Tamer has an older brother.

In the fall of 2009, he was faced with allegations of plagiarism: His song Ha'esh Hayati said to have copied parts of the song Why Not Us by the German band Monrose.

In experiencing the revolution in Egypt, 2011, Hosny went to the center of the demonstrations, Tahrir Square in Cairo, there to speak to people and sing. However, he received negative reactions from the audience, which booing him. Hosny had before in the second week of protests, the demonstrators asked about the Egyptian state television to leave the place to avoid bloodshed.
