Tamerlan Thorell

Tord Tamerlan Teodor Thorell ( May 3, 1830 *, † December 22, 1901 ) was a Swedish Arachnologe. He taught as a professor of zoology at the University of Uppsala.

He studied the spiders with Giacomo Doria (1840-1913) at the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale de Genoa. He corresponded with Frederick Octavius ​​Pickard - Cambridge arachnologists and Eugène Simon. Thorell wrote two important works: About European spiders ( 1869) and synonyms of European spiders ( 1870-1873 ).
