Bishop of Tranquebar is the title of the bishop in the Tamil Lutheran Church (Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church, TELC ) in Tamil Nadu, South India. The TELC was founded in 1919 in the tradition of the Leipzig Mission work and the Swedish ( Lutheran ) mission. The bishop's was taken over by the Lutheran Church in Sweden. The Bishop of Tranquebar has its headquarters in Tiruchirappalli.
