Tamir Pardo

Tamir Pardo ( born 1953 in Israel ) is an Israeli officer and since 2010 director of the foreign intelligence service Mossad.

Life

He served in the Israeli military as a liaison officer in Sayeret Matkal special unit. During this time he was involved in Operation Entebbe, under Yonatan " Yoni " Netanyahu, the older brother of Prime Minister Netanyahu. In this operation, Yonatan was killed.

After his military service to Tamir in 1980 joined the Mossad. There he grew up and in 1998 head of the intelligence department " Caesarea ", which is responsible for electronic surveillance. He was appointed by Meir Dagan to his deputy in 2002. 2005 Dagan Pardo lent to the IDF, the Israeli Ministry of Defense, where he was to bring his special knowledge. During this time, Dagan dismissed his former deputy and thus brought back Pardo as his number two to take over with the promise of the management of the Mossad soon. Pardo is married, has two children.
