Tampere Film Festival

The Tampere International Short Film Festival is held annually in March in the Finnish city of Tampere instead.

Tampere is accredited as one of the few international short film festivals in the international film producers association FIAPF and ranks alongside the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and the Festival du Court - Métrage de Clermont -Ferrand to the most important European short film festivals.

1969 found for the first time in Tampere Short Film Festival held since 1970, the festival has existed in its present form. This Tampere is the oldest short film festival in Scandinavia.

Nearly 500 short films will be shown each year. In addition to an international competition, it is also a competition for Finnish short films. Among the discoveries of the festival is one of the Finnish film director Aki Kaurismäki. Tampere is also known for its varied program of seminars and panel discussions to concerts.
