Tampere Hall

The Tampere Hall (Finnish: Tampere - talo ) is an event and congress hall in the center of the southwestern Finnish city of Tampere. It is regarded as one of the largest in Northern Europe. The two architects Sakari Aartelo and Esa Piironen designed the hall, which was opened by the former Finnish President Mauno Koivisto on 29 September 1990. The architectural structure of the building is made of simple geometric figures such as rectangles, squares, circles, or trapezoids. Building materials are white ceramic tiles, gray granite and glass.

The house has five halls and meeting rooms, the largest of them offers seating for up to 750 people space. In addition, the Tampere Hall has a smaller auditorium for up to 200 people, which is also used for concerts. The two Hauptauditorien contain 500 and 1,800 people. About two-thirds are Finnish events, one-third international.
