Tancred Ibsen, Jr.

Tancred Ibsen junior ( born July 6, 1921 in Christiania ) is a Norwegian diplomat.

Tancred Ibsen was born in 1921 as son of Tancred Ibsen and Lillebil Ibsen. It is thus a great-grandson of Henrik Ibsen. Ibsen acquired the academic degree Candidatus oeconomices ( cand.oecon. ) And Candidatus juris ( cand.jur. ). In 1947 he began to work for the Norwegian Foreign Ministry. Among other things, he was advisor to the 1962 Norwegian EU delegation. From 1968 held Ibsen different ambassadorship, he was from 1968 to 1973 Norwegian Ambassador to Hungary from 1973 to 1979, in Egypt from 1979 to 1982 in the People's Republic of China, and from 1982 to 1986 in India, and finally from 1986 to 1989 in Greece.

Ibsen was awarded the St. Olav Medal.
