Tandy Center Subway

Leonards Subway was a tram in the Texas city of Fort Worth. The name Subway is because 500 meters of this 1,600 -meter-long train were in a tunnel. Another reason was that the mall could advertise that they have the first privately operated subway in the United States.

The railway was opened on February 12, 1963 between the shopping center Leonard 's Department Store and the customer car park. She had five stops, including the located below the shopping center Metro station. Of these, only the two termini were approached in both directions. The train stopped at a breakpoint before the tunnel only on their journey towards the shopping center and the other two on the way back. To cope with the passenger amount, the seats were removed in the vehicles for a short time. After 1974, the mall had changed hands, the train firmte under the name Tandy Center Subway. With the start of construction of an administrative building for the electrical company RadioShack in the parking lot came on 30 August 2002, the end of the track.
