Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana

The Tangipahoa Parish (French: Paroisse de Tangipahoa ) is a parish located in the state of Louisiana in the United States. In the census in 2010, the Parish had 121 097 inhabitants and a population density of 59.2 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Amite City.

History

The Tangipahoa Parish was formed in 1868 from parts of Livingston Parish, the St. Helena Parish, Parish of St. Tammany and Washington Parish.
