Tania Aebi

Tania Aebi ( born October 7, 1966) is an American sailor and author.

Aebi is a native of Switzerland. At 18, she sailed between 1985 and 1987 alone with the sailing yacht Varuna around the world. She was, except for a brief passage in the Pacific Ocean (80 miles), in which it was accompanied by a friend - the first American woman alone has sailed around the world single-handed. She has published storm their experiences on this journey in the book The World.

Your only sailing experience before the circumnavigation was crossing the Atlantic with her father. 1997 was Aebi columnist for the U.S. sailing magazine Latitudes & Attitudes. She now lives in Vermont.
