Tanjay

Tanjay City, Lungsod ng Tagalog Cebuano Dakbayan sa Tanjay and in Tanjay, is a component city in the province of Negros Oriental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 79 098 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 24 barangays. It belongs to the fourth income class municipalities in the Philippines. The title of a Component City received the city announced on 5 March 2001.

It is located about 31 kilometers north of Dumaguete City, the journey time is approximately forty-five minutes by bus, by car about thirty minutes. Your neighboring municipalities are Amlanim south, Pamplona and Bayawan City in the west, Bais City in the north. The narrow coastal strip to the east is opposite to the Tanon Strait, the island of Cebu.

The Tanjay City Board Walk is located at Barangay Mainit Beach in San Isidro, on it you walk through a protected mangrove forest. In Tanjay Rizal park is a statue of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose P. poet and Rizal.
