Tannay, Switzerland

Tannay is a municipality in the district of Nyon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Tannay is located on 410 m above sea level. M., in the extreme southwest of Vaud, 12 km north of the city of Geneva (air line). The village is located near the western shore of Lake Geneva on a slightly towards the lake sloping hillside, north of the small Taleinschnitts the stream Nant.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1390 under the name of Taney. Tannay belonged in the Middle Ages to the rule Coppet. With the conquest of Vaud by Bern in 1536, the village came under the administration of the Bailiwick of Nyon. Attractions
