Geography

Grunwald is located in the valley of Zschopau that the receiving here from the northwest coming Geyersbach. Highest point of the place is the "bones" with 641 m. Due to the local situation lead the state roads S222 and S267.

Neighboring communities

To the north is bordered Ehrenfriedersdorf, in the east Thermal Wiesenbad, in the south Schlettau, southwest and west Elterlein Geyer to the place.

At Tannenberg belongs to the district Siebenhöfen.

History

The first mention of Tannenberg was 1411. Situated right of Zschopau part of the village belonged to the reign of Belberg Burggrafen to Meissen. The left-side manor belonged to the rule Wolkenstein. End of the 15th century, both districts of Matthes be purchased of irritants stone. The manor is over 500 years of political and economic center of the village.

1812 was built by the Englishman Evan Evans in Siebenhöfen a spinning mill. Over the years, the textile industry the main business in the community. Other smaller companies in the metal, plastic and paper processing settled also.
