Tannenbergbund

The Tannenberg Federation ( full name: ". Tannenberg - collar working community Nationalist Front warrior 's and youth organizations " (TB) ) was a Nationalist Association, which formed mainly of front-line soldiers of the First World War. He was named after the Battle of Tannenberg. It was founded on the 5th or September 7, 1925 under crucial involvement of the later Reich Labor leader Konstantin Hierl, the only state board of Bavaria was official, but as the actual organizer of TB in Germany worked. Erich Ludendorff took over formally only the patronage. The TB is, however, to be regarded as his personal political club. Official Chairman was General A.D. Friedrich Bronsart of Schelldorf.

Objectives

Task of TB should be to collect all the far-right and nationalist groups in Germany after the dissolution of front banns of Ernst Röhm and to act as a counterweight Nationalist activists to the established military associations, professional societies of the officers and the steel helmet. About the TB Ludendorff should serve as a collection point for right-wing para-military formations and ethnic clubs located in Start-up against the NSDAP and the SA and act against the fragmentation of the extreme right-wing organizations and associations in Germany. This included a glorification of Ludendorff as a commander, directed against Hindenburg, the old German royal families and Adolf Hitler.

The federal government promoted the war of revenge against France, and the acquisition of " more space for our zusammengepreßtes people"

Despite all the efforts of unit Hierl Ludendorff snubbed in the years of the existence of the Federal almost all potential allies through his leadership and his anticlerical and extremist, passing to the real political situation demands. The confrontation with Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, the Ludendorff the defeat of the coup of 1923 as a contract " on state " became famous imputed (ie, foreign, clerical and Masonic ) forces. Ludendorff was thus to a " non-person " for the traditional officer frets and since Hierl kept faith with him, he was expelled from the great officer associations.

The political world of thought is to be made clear in the case of the following quotation:

"You do not tell anyone that one step further is politically right or left, for a rogue or fool, under sliding not a priori in case of disagreement the other unprofessional, low and vulgar motives. And if a foreign, governmental or supranational authority seeks to interfere in our domestic dissensions German, then broke up and thrown together the strangers! " " Combining all forces under purposeful leadership is the need of the hour. "

Organization

In 1926/27 was the number of members 30-40000. Until 1926 it was possible Hierl to combine a number of organizations under the umbrella of Tannenberg Federal, eg the front collar warrior, remains of Altreichsflagge, the " German Nationalists officer covenant" ( Dvoe ) Hierl, " The Iron flock. Federation of German men and frontline fighters " from Frankfurt, the " Bund Völkischer Teacher of Germany eV " in Berlin, etc. The most important mouthpiece was the Völkische courier, later the Völkische field post, from 1926 Ludendorff's private journal The German newsreel.

Decline and end

In the fall of 1927, Hierl and Ludendorff split up for good when General his leaving the church publicly celebrated and getting massive Hitler as an "agent of supranational powers" attack. A leadership position within the right-wing camp of the Weimar Republic, he had long ceased to hold. By 1929, more and more important associations left the TB and went into the ranks of the NSDAP. The TB evolved under the influence of Mathilde Ludendorff increasingly becoming a sect to disseminate fanciful conspiracy theories and slipped to 1930 in the complete political irrelevance. A share in the establishment of TB in 1925 is contrary to all historical legends not to award her even though she already then strongly influenced Ludendorff. On September 22, 1933, the federal government was banned by the Nazis, simultaneously with the German people by Erich Ludendorff, the predecessor organization of the League of God's knowledge.
