The Tannhorn ( 2,221 m above sea level. M. ) lies on the border of the municipalities Brienz, Oberried FR (both in the canton of Bern ) and Fluhli (Canton Lucerne ) in the Bernese Oberland and is the second highest mountain in the Brienzergrates. The hike to the Tannhorn with its steep flanks is only recommended for experienced hikers. The locals usually choose the ascent from the Brienz Rothorn over the ridge (for vertigo ). Sub alpine hikers say this Brienzergrat and offers a beautiful Gratüberschreitung on exposed paths ( T5). The descent is via the steep south-facing slope to Rotschalp and from there on a little road back to the Planalp.

From Kemmeriboden also made ​​a way through the Ällgäulücke leads on Tannhorn.
