Tanzplattform Deutschland

The Dance Platform Germany is a German forum for contemporary dance. It is intended for visitors from home and abroad, cultural events, trade press and at a broad audience. Every two years realized changing local organizers, the individual issues of the dance platform.

From the current German productions a jury invites exemplary artistic positions of contemporary dance and presents them to the international audience, organizers, press and interested parties. The most important representatives of contemporary dance are presented in the portraits of the Programme Guide and archived together with the International Theatre Institute.

History and current development

The Dance Platform Germany was created in 1994 from the national pre-selection for the biennial competition held choreographer " Rencontres internationales de Bagnolet Chorégraphiques " in Paris, the most important choreography competition in the world.

The " Rencontres Chorégraphiques " which BRDance Festival ( 1990) and the National Performance Network (1992/ 93) impressed gradually by their national approaches to structural support of choreographers and through their productions, the project idea of the Dance Platform Germany. Since 2002, determine the organizers of the Dance Platform Germany, - like those of other countries and independently by a French jury - who participated in the national platforms choreographers whose invitation to the festival to Bagnolet is then tested. In 2004, a board of trustees was set up that selects works from the past season. It is next to the organizing institution of two independent expert jury members.
