Tapiola

Tapiola [ tɑpiɔlɑ ] ( swedish Hagalund ) is a district of the Finnish city of Espoo.

Tapiola was largely built in the 1960s and was designed as a garden city. So there are the residential areas of the district of widely spaced, scattered in the forest homes. This is also indicated the name of the district through: it is derived from Tapio, the god of the forest from the Finnish mythology.

Tapiola is the location of the cultural center of Espoo and the Barona Areena, the ice rink the hockey team Espoo Blues.
