Tappendorf

Tappen village is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Tappen village is located about 20 km west of Neumünster and 22 km south of Rendsburg in Akrug Nature Park. Southwest of Tappen village cross the main road 77 from Rendsburg to Itzehoe and the federal highway 430 from Neumünster towards Meldorf. The nearest shops are located in the neighboring municipality Hohenwestedt.

The landscape around Tappen village is hilly and wooded.

History

The name Tappendorf points to a personal name ( " Tabbe " or " Tabbo " ) and developed from the first mention of a " Tabbendorp " 1375 to today Tappen village. The village was built on a long-drawn village street with short side streets.

1759 a village school was founded, was taught in the up in the 1970s by a full teacher. Due to the establishment of a community school villages in Hohenwestedt this like any other village schools in the area was closed and is now used as a residence. The former school yard in front of the building still existing, on which a playground is located, is named after the longtime teacher Dürrholz.

Only exist from the dairy farm founded in 1894 and the brick building. The restaurant was opened in 1904, closed in 2010.
