Tappet

The plunger is a part of the valve control of a four-stroke reciprocating engine. He either transmits along with the bumper and the rocker arm or directly to the correct time of opening operation of the combustion chamber of the camshaft on the valve. Plunger have different shapes, for example they are formed as a cup tappet, or may contain as a hydraulic ram automatic lash.

There are also four-stroke reciprocating piston engines without ram.
