Tarek Al-Wazir

Tarek Al- Wazir ( officially Tarek Mohamed Al- Wazir ) (Arabic: طارق الوزير, DMG Tariq al - Wazir, born January 3, 1971 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90/The Greens ). He is a member of the Hesse state parliament, where he was from 2000 to 2014 Chairman of the Group of the Greens since 1995. Origin and study

Al- Wazir is the son of the German teacher Gerhild crunch and the Yemenis Mohamed Al- Wazir. He holds citizenship in both countries. First, he was raised by his mother in Offenbach, with 14 years he went for two years with his father in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, where he attended an international school. In 1987 he returned to Offenbach. The time in Yemen, he now describes as very formative for itself in its development. After graduating from the Max - Beckmann - School in Frankfurt am Main Al- Wazir graduated from 1991 to 1992 the civil service and then studied political science at the Johann -Wolfgang- Goethe University and completed his studies with a degree in political science, where he in higher education policy, in particular in the Convention of the University, committed.

A great-uncle of Al- Wazir was the leader of the first Yemeni revolution and for two weeks King of Yemen. He was the victim of radical opponents of the Revolution and was beheaded. Tarek Al- Wazir is married and has two sons.

Green Party since 1989

Even as a high school student was Al- Wazir 1989, member of the Green Party. From 1992 to 1994 he was chairman of the Young Greens Hesse. In December 2006, Tarek Al- Wazir was elected to the Federal Party Council of Alliance 90/The Greens and heard this since uninterruptedly. From September 2007 to December 2013 he was, together with Kordula Schulz- ash, state chairman of the Hessian countryside.

Member of Parliament

From 1993 to 1997 and again since 2000 belongs to Tarek Al- Wazir of the City Council of Offenbach am Main.

1995 Al- Wazir became a member of the Hesse Landtag. Here he was from May 2000 to January 2014 Group Chairman of the Group of the Alliance 90/The Greens. As a media spokesman, he was also a member of the Broadcasting Council of the Hessischer Rundfunk.

After the state elections in Hesse 2008, he wanted to lead his group in a Red-Green government, which should be tolerated by the Left. He should be Environment Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.
