Tareq Al Suwaidan

Sheikh Tareq Al Suwaidan (Arabic طارق سويدان / Tariq al - Suwaydān; born 1953 in Kuwait ) is a Kuwaiti entrepreneur and a TV personality. He is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait. He is the Chief Executive Officer and owner of Gulf Innovation Group in Kuwait and Chief of the satellite TV channel al- Risala ( قناة الرسالة / Risala "The Message " / al - Resalah Satellite TV) ibid. His TV shows reach wide audiences in the Middle East. Sweidan is also prominent as a motivational speaker and as an author of several books about Islam.

He studied engineering with an emphasis on petroleum engineering in the United States, first at the University of Pennsylvania and later at the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.

In 2006 he was one of the signatories of the open letter of Islamic scholars to Pope Benedict XVI. after his Regensburg speech.

He was one of the 138 signatories of the open letter A Common Word between Us and You (English A Common Word Between Us and You), the personalities of Islam to "leaders of Christian churches everywhere" (English " Leaders of Christian Churches, everywhere ... " ) submitted (13 October 2007).

In 2009 he was listed in the list of 500 most influential Muslims of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim- Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre of Jordan.
