TargetLink

TargetLink is a manufacturer dSPACE software for automatic production code generation based on a subset of Simulink / Stateflow models. TargetLink requires an existing MATLAB / Simulink installation and a separate supplied so-called Blockset.

TargetLink generates both ANSI -C, as well as processor- optimized code. Furthermore TargetLink supports code generation for AUTOSAR software components for the automotive sector. A MISRA -C: 2004 compliance documentation is available on request.

The administration of all relevant information for code generation takes place in a central data container, called the Data Dictionary.

The test of the generated code is performed in Simulink, which was used for the specification of the underlying simulation models. TargetLink supports three simulation modes for testing the generated code:

The Motor Industry Software Reliability Association ( MISRA ) has for TargetLink end of 2007, official MISRA modeling guidelines published ( MISRA AC TL), which are especially for functional safety and for the creation of safety -critical applications is important. In 2009, the TÜV SÜD TargetLink certified for safety- critical systems according to ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

Based on the described by dSPACE TargetLink Reference workflows, the code generator thus supports an ISO 26262 compliant, model-based software development. The emphasis here is on "supported": A simplistic reduction to the statement " TargetLink generates ISO 26262 -compliant production code ", as is clear from the dSpace document, not applicable.
