Tarmstedt

Tarmstedt ( Low German TARMs ) is a municipality and administrative headquarters of the eponymous Samtgemeinde Tarmstedt in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme ) in Lower Saxony. The municipality had 3,500 inhabitants in 2004. The community lies on the edge of the Moors and the devil Zevener Geest north of the A 1

Parish council

Since the local elections of 2011, the municipal council is composed as follows:

  • CDU: 6 seats
  • SPD: 8 seats
  • FDP: 1 seat

Coat of arms

The coat of arms depicts on a green background a facing nichtheraldisch left silver ax. Below the ax are two superimposed rings of gold. The rings were found in the vicinity of the place in the open pit and have in stock a diameter of about 10 cm.

Culture and sights

Music

Since 1993, the Christian Youth Choir Tarmstedt exists. It will be sung gospel and other Christian literature.

Religion

In Tarmstedt is the Evangelical Martin Luther Church. The Catholic Mary Queen church no longer exists.

Sports

The locals sports club is the gymnastics and sports club Tarmstedt 1908 eV, short TuS Tarmstedt. The TuS Tarmstedt is a grassroots organization with a diverse choice. Currently the association has thirteen departments ( divisions ). 2013 Judo division was newly established. The club chairman Bernd Sievert, currently has more than 1200 members. The club's sports complex consists of four grass pitches, including three with floodlights, and a spacious clubhouse. The indoor sports are practiced in the Samtgemeinde own 3-field Großsporthalle. Each year the football Pfingsturnier for instead of E to C Youth teams. Every two years, is an Italian visiting team from Minervino to after Tarmstedt.

Regular events

Every year since 1949, takes place over four days Tarmstedter exhibition, an agricultural machinery and equipment exhibition with great family and entertainment that regularly has about 100,000 visitors. Since 2004, the open-air concert rock takes place the Luke, appeared on the bands like Sub7even and Jennifer Rostock.
